Starting from the end of November, the implementation of the "Water is Life" project is set to kick off accross several regions.
Within the framework of COP29, an event titled "The Role of SMBs in Sustainable Water Use" was held in the "Green Zone," dedicated to the presentation of the "Water is Life" project.
The aim of event was to inform stakeholders about the development program on efficient water use and modern technologies for SMBs – the "Water is Life" project, as well as to promote sustainable management of water resources, and the introduction of innovative solutions in this field. It is worth noting that the "Water is Life" project is being implemented by the "SmartNation" platform and the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) with the support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations.
Sarvan Jafarov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Orhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Management Board of KOBİA, Fund Jens Nielsen, President of the World Climate, and Shabnam Mammadova, a member of the COP29 Organizing Committee and founder of the "SmartNation" platform shared their insights on the importance of water resources and the efficient use of water in the transition of SMBs to a green economy. The event was followed by panels on the topics "Each Drop is essential for Tomorrow" and "Caring for Water, Guaranteeing the Future."
At the panels, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, the University of Geneva, KOBİA, "ANTEA Brasil," the UNFCCC Green Climate Fund, "Acqua Novara, Vco SpA," "Digital Umbrella," and "Sustainera Solutions" discussed the importance of water resource conservation for the future, the role of technologies in this field, innovative solutions for the effective management of water resources, and international cooperation.
Aytan Hajıyeva, the manager of the "Water is Life" project, provided information about the objectives of the project and expected impacts during the presentation of the "Development Program on Efficient Water Use and Modern Technologies for SMBs." It was emphasized that starting from the end of November, the project is to take off in the regions of Lankaran, Masalli, Lerik, Astara, Jalilabad, and Bilasuvar.
