A presentation on the UN Global Compact was held for entrepreneurs

A presentation on the UN Global Compact for entrepreneurs was organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA).

The expert Samir Mammadov, who gave a presentation on the Global Compact, noted that according to statistics, companies that apply the principles of human rights, fair labor relations, the environment and the fight against corruption to their strategy and operations are more profitable and sustainable, their brands are more valuable, they have more access to capital, and they are more attractive to employees, customers and society. The UN Global Compact encourages businesses to align their strategies and activities with universally accepted principles on human rights, labor rights, the environment and anti-corruption, and to contribute to the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Compact is a corporate initiative that unites more than 12 thousand business and more than 3 thousand non-business partners in more than 160 countries. The principles included in the Global Compact are based on key international documents such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Labor Organization's Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development, and the UN Convention against Corruption.

In the end, the entrepreneurs' questions about the UN Global Compact were answered.
