The event provided information on the essence of technical regulations, their role in ensuring consumer safety, and the advantages their application will create for market participants. The opinions and proposals of the participants were also heard.

Organized jointly by the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA), a public hearing and discussion was held at the “Baku SME House” on the draft technical regulations prepared by the Ministry of Energy - “On the Safety of Low-Voltage Electrical Installations and Equipment” - and by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport -“On the Electromagnetic Compatibility of Technical Devices.”

At the event, speeches were delivered by Rauf Taghiyev, Deputy Head of the SME Friend Department of KOBİA, and Nazrin Mirzazada, Deputy Head of the Standardization, Technical Regulation, and Certification Division of the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control. The speakers highlighted the advantages of the draft technical regulations in terms of ensuring the circulation of safe and high-quality products in the domestic market, protecting consumer interests, and strengthening a competitive environment for business entities. Entrepreneurs were also encouraged to actively participate in public hearings and discussions and to present their proposals.

Within the framework of the event, representatives of the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport delivered presentations on the areas covered by the draft technical regulations, the main safety requirements, aspects related to their application in conformity assessment processes, and other important issues.

At the end of the meeting, participants’ questions were answered, and their opinions and suggestions were heard.
