A tourist complex opens in Astara, Lankaran starts production of new tea brand

A new tourist complex has been opened in Astara. The launching of the tourist complex will be important to the development of the tourism in the country, in particular domestic and cross-border tourism in the post pandemic period. The complex will make a significant contribution to the development of the Lankaran economic region, creation of new jobs and employment in the region, as well as business development.

On September 22, Chairman of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the State Agency for Tourism Fuad Nagiyev and Head of the Astara District Executive Authority Gazanfar Agayev familiarized with the activities of the tourist complex and other projects to be implemented there, discussed the development of micro, small and medium business in the tourist industry of region.

State support to opening of the tourist complex has been achieved through the Agency. The Agency provided consulting services and support in coordination with public and private entities, creation of professional staff capacity, marketing, use of the mechanisms of state support to entrepreneurship.

The tourism complex established by young entrepreneur consists of a 4-storey hotel, a fitness center, a complex for equestrian sports, carting, a restaurant, a children's entertainment center and beaches. Over 60 new jobs were created here. More than 4 million AZN were invested in the tourist complex.

At the moment the Agency supports the tourist complex in the process of obtaining an investment promotion document. The Agency will continue state support the entrepreneurship for expansion of activities of complex, provision of local employment through creation a new jobs, as well as provision of engaging by complex the services of other relevant small and medium business of the region.

With the support of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency, the entrepreneurs from Lankaran and Gabala regions began producing lavender tea. Lavender tea is produced at the "Yashil chay" farm in Lankaran from products collected at the lavender farm in Gabala as a result of the consulting and coordination services of Gabala-Oguz and Lankaran "SMBs Friends". It is expected that in the coming days, lavender tea will be on sale in the trade networks.

While visiting the "Yashil chay" farm, located in Lankaran, Chairman of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency Orhan Mammadov and Chairman of the State Agency for Tourism Fuad Nagiyev familiarized themselves with the production process, possibility of developing agrotourism on the farm, and asked about development needs of enterprise as small business entities.

It should be noted that the Agency provided the state support the lavender farm in the village of Chukhur Gabala and the "Yashil chay" farm in Lankaran. The Agency provided the consulting services to obtain relevant certificates on lavender farm, coordinating sales, identification of local partners, as well as on mechanisms of state support for entrepreneurs. The "Yashil chay" farm, in turn, has engaged the services of the Agency on the development of documentation and the business plan for establishment of rural hotel for developing agrotourism, coordination with private entities. In the following step, the Agency will continue to provide support business entities in expanding production, sale and leveraging in new markets of Lavandeli tea.
