A working visit of a delegation of business support organizations and businessmen organized by KOBİA to Jordan has ended 19.04.22

As reported, organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) in coordination with the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Jordan, representatives of business support organizations in Azerbaijan, as well as businessmen engaged in agriculture, food, tourism, health, education and in import-export operations paid a working visit to Jordan.

During the visit, on April 18, KOBİA Board Chairman Orkhan Mammadov met with Jordan's Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmad Hanandeh, Head of the Entrepreneurship Development Corporation Abdel Fatah Al Kayed, Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Procurement Dana Al-Zoubi and First Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce Jamal Rifai.

The sides exchanged views on new business and investment initiatives, digitalization of SMEs, expansion of trade relations between Jordan and Azerbaijan, possible joint projects and cooperation opportunities in the field of entrepreneurship, information was provided on the development of the SME sector in Azerbaijan, the Agency's support and services to entrepreneurs.

A memorandum of understanding on cooperation was also signed between KOBİA and the Jordan Chamber of Commerce. The document was signed by the Chairman of the Board of KOBİA Orkhan Mammadov and the First Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce Jamal Rifai. The document envisages the promotion of cooperation between SMEs of the two countries, mutual information in the field of trade and investment opportunities, exchange of experience in organizing and managing activities to provide services to SMEs, organization of joint events to expand cooperation between SMEs and other areas.

It should be noted that the purpose of the visit, which covers April 17-18, is to expand relations between Azerbaijani and Jordanian businessmen and relevant agencies, discuss opportunities for joint business and investment projects, development of trade relations and prospects for access to the Jordanian market. During the visit, on April 17, KOBİA Chairman Orkhan Mammadov met with Jordan's Minister of Investment Khairy Amr and Chairman of the Chamber of Industry Fathi Al-Jagber to discuss opportunities for cooperation in trade and investment, as well as prospects for expanding business contacts. Azerbaijan's business and investment opportunities were presented to the Jordanian business community at the Jordan-Azerbaijan Economic and Investment Forum in Amman. Memorandums of Understanding on cooperation were also signed between KOBİA and the Jordan Chamber of Industry and the Jordan Businessmen's Association.
