An Azerbaijan-Pakistan business conference was held in Baku on June 7 with the support of the Ministry of Economy, jointly organized by the Export and Investment Promotion Agency - AZPROMO and the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.


The event was attended by officials from both countries, as well as more than 50 businessmen.


Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Mammadov, head of AZPROMO Yusif Abdullayev, Ambassador of Pakistan to Azerbaijan Bilal Hayee, President of the Pakistan-Azerbaijan Economic Cooperation Chamber (PAKAZCHAM) Khurram Bhatti, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mohammad Shakil Munir spoke at the conference.


Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) Orkhan Mammadov stressed that there are wide opportunities for cooperation between the business communities of Azerbaijan and Pakistan, and informed about the activities of the Agency. It was noted that KOBİA can support foreign entrepreneurs wishing to establish business in our country, including businessmen from Pakistan, in liaising with relevant agencies, finding local partners, implementing joint projects between SMEs of the two countries and other areas. Steps are being taken to establish cooperation between the Agency and the Pakistan SME Development Organization. It is planned to exchange experience between businessmen and implement joint initiatives.
