Azerbaijani-Turkish Forum on "One product, two markets" was held

On February 16, by the initiative of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the support of Small and Medium Industries Development Organization (KOSGEB) of Turkey, an online forum on "One product, two markets: Azerbaijan-Turkish mutual cooperation and trade opportunities" was held.

Speaking at the event organized by Azerbaijan and Turkey with the participation of relevant agencies, companies operating in various sectors of the economy, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Agency Orkhan Mammadov underlined Azerbaijani-Turkish friendship and brotherhood, and solidarity of our countries stimulate the development between our countries in all areas including economic and trade relations. Underlying the great potential for further expansion of trade and economic relations, he added that the purpose of the forum is to discuss the realization of these opportunities and expansion of cooperation. Orkhan Mammadov emphasized the great opportunities for co-production, mutual sales and cooperation between SMBs of both countries, and that SMBDA and KOSGEB can support SMBs in this direction. It was noted that the geographical location of both countries and their advantages in different markets can make this cooperation effective for exports to third markets.

In turn, head of KOSGEB informed the participants on trade relations and export potential in Turkey, noting the support and cooperation opportunities offered to SMBs in this area.

Likewise, President of Azerbaijan’s National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Mammad Musayev and acting President of Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) Yusif Abdullayev briefed the participants on the activities of their organizations and presented proposals for future cooperation.

Representatives of the State Customs Committee, Food Safety Agency (AFSA), SMBDA, Azerbaijan Investment Company, AZPROMO, TUIB, ATIB, TÜGİDER, Turkish Standards Institution (TSE), Turkish International Transportation Organization (UND), Ziraat Bank Azerbaijan OJSC, Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), AZEXPORT Export Portal, business associations, and businessmen participated in the panel discussions of the forum. They shared their views and suggestions on the expansion of trade relations between the two countries, logistics, customs and technical regulation issues in mutual trade, cooperation opportunities of small and medium businesses, investment opportunities of Azerbaijan and investment potential of the liberated territories. Questions of the event participants were answered.

At the end of the Forum, a digital demonstration of the Azerbaijani and Turkish products was held.
