Baku hosts first Caspian International Transport & Logistics Forum

The forum saw topics such as the Azerbaijan`s transformation into a center for connecting international logistics routes, transit prospects, optimization of logistics costs, new technologies in modern logistics, activities of SMBs in the relevant field, human capital and vocational training.

The 1st Caspian International Transport and Logistics Forum was held at the Baku Congress Center.

The forum organized for the first time was held as part of the 20th Caspian International Transport, Transit and Logistics - "Translogistica Caspian" Exhibition held in our country from May 31 to June 2.

The exhibition is officially supported by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Customs Committee, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA), Green Corridor Service CJSC, the Permanent Secretariat of IGC TRACECA, the Association of Azerbaijan Customs Representation and Logistics Companies, the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), the Chartered Institute of International Logistics and Transport (CILT), the Organisation of Co-operation Between Railways (OSJD) and the Association of Exhibition Organisers of Azerbaijan (ASTA).

The forum was attended by the representatives of the state bodies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, international organizations, transport associations, sector experts and entrepreneurs.

Speaking at the event, Samir Mammadov, Deputy Minister of the Digital Development and Transport, Natig Shirinov, Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee, Natig Hasanov, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the KOBİA, Vugar Zeynalov, Vice President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Asset Assavbayev, Secretary General of the TRACECA expressed their views on topics such as the Azerbaijan`s transformation into a center for connecting international logistics routes, transit prospects, optimization of logistics costs, new technologies and automation in modern logistics, activities of SMBs in the relevant field, human capital, vocational education and training.

As part of the forum, panel discussions were also held on "Logistics infrastructure and new opportunities for small and medium businesses", "Transit perspectives and compliance with international customs standards" and "Human Capital, Vocational Education and Training".
