Co-Chairs of the Azerbaijan–Saudi Arabia Joint Business Council Meet

The meeting discussed the future activities of the Business Council and opportunities for further strengthening cooperation between the business communities of both countries within this platform.

A meeting between the Co-Chairs of the Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia Joint Business Council was held in Baku within the framework of the 2nd Azerbaijan Halal Business (AZHAB) Forum.

The meeting was attended by the Co-Chairs of the Business Council-Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA), and Mehdi Hadi Alhatban, as well as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Azerbaijan, Issam bin Saleh Al-Jutayli, the Saudi delegation participating in the forum, and representatives of several Azerbaijani business associations.

During the discussions, Chairman of KOBIA Orkhan Mammadov noted that the Agency cooperates with relevant institutions of Saudi Arabia and supports entrepreneurs to expand connections between the business communities of both countries. It was emphasized that to further increase the existing trade turnover, broader use should be made of the potential of the Joint Business Council, which brings together the business circles of Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia.

The meeting also featured an exchange of views on regular information sharing regarding sectors and projects of interest to Saudi Arabia, organizing mutual sectoral business missions, and continuing the engagement of active entrepreneurs in the work of the Council.

It should be noted that the Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia Joint Business Council was established in 2022 in Baku within the framework of the meeting of the Joint Commission on Cooperation in the Fields of Economy, Trade, Investment, Technology, Culture, Sports, and Youth between the Governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Council was founded jointly by KOBIA and the Federation of Saudi Chambers.

To date, six meetings of the Business Council have been held. The Council, which includes business representatives from both countries, supports entrepreneurial initiatives, facilitates the establishment of direct connections between entrepreneurs, assists in organizing reciprocal visits, meetings, and various events, and promotes information exchange among business communities.
