Conference on "Constitution and Sovereignty – The Development of Entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan" Held 25.04.25

An address to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, was adopted on behalf of the conference participants.

On April 25, a conference titled "Constitution and Sovereignty – The Development of Entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan," dedicated to "Entrepreneurs' Day" and the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty" in the Republic of Azerbaijan, was held at the Gulustan Palace. The event was organized with the support of the Ministry of Economy, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA), and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan.

The conference commenced with the playing of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan and a moment of silence in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of the country.

The event brought together senior officials of relevant state institutions, representatives of entrepreneurs' public associations, and businesspersons operating in various sectors.

Speakers at the conference included Gunduz Karimov - Head of the Legislative and Legal Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Elnur Aliyev - First Deputy Minister of Economy, Azar Amiraslanov - Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, and Entrepreneurship, Shahin Baghirov - Chairman of the State Customs Committee, Sahib Mammadov - Chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan, Orkhan Mammadov - Chairman of the Management Board of KOBIA, Mammad Musayev - President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan and Yusif Abdullayev - Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency. During the speeches, participants highlighted the development of the national economy and entrepreneurship, the pivotal role of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in shaping the private sector, the successful continuation of this policy under the leadership of President Mr.Ilham Aliyev, improvements to legislation supporting entrepreneurs, simplification of administrative procedures, the introduction of incentives and support measures, the priority given to the development of small and medium-sized businesses, and the importance of public-private dialogue.

A film on the development of entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan was also screened during the event.

At the conclusion of the conference, an address to President Mr.Ilham Aliyev was adopted on behalf of the participants.

The event ended with a cultural program.

It should be noted that on April 25, 2002, National Leader Heydar Aliyev held a historic meeting with local entrepreneurs, followed by a meeting with foreign businessmen in May of the same year. By the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated April 21, 2016, this significant date April 25 has been celebrated as "Entrepreneurs' Day" in Azerbaijan for the past ten years.
