Cooperation with civil society institutions in the fight against pandemic

The Ministry of Economy continues to hold online meetings to ensure the active participation of various layers of society in the fight against pandemic and unite joint efforts and initiatives in this area.

The next video conference was organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) with the participation of civil society institutions.

The online meeting was attended by Ministry of Economy and the Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and leaders of non-governmental organizations in various fields that noted that civil society institutions, like other members of society, should take an active part in pandemic control. It was stressed that non-governmental organizations should contribute to awareness-raising to ensure compliance with special quarantine, necessary rules of social conduct and sanitary-epidemiological requirements, in particular the use of protective masks, social distance and disinfection, and publicly condemn the irresponsible citizens that do not take coronavirus infection seriously.

During the video conference, the sides exchanged views on joint projects, awareness-raising activities, organization of public actions within the state-civil society platform to support systemic measures implemented by the government of Azerbaijan, listened to participants' proposals and agreed on joint projects.
