Dashkasan beekeepers provided with agrarian consulting services

Consultants gave instructions to Dashkasan farmers on comprehensive measures to breeding of a highly productive bee family.

Organized by "AzerGold" CJSC, with the support of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA), practical trainings for farmers were held within the scope of the "Support for the development of beekeeping" project, which has been carried out in Dashkasan district for the second year. Within 4 days, 32 farmers operating in Chowdar, Bayan, Gushchu villages and Shadakh settlement of Dashkasan district were provided with individual agrarian consulting services.

Consultants engaged in the project instructed farmers on comprehensive measures of breeding a highly productive bee family. They were given recommendations towards proper organization of breeding work, preservation and improvement of the gene pool of honeybee breeds and populations, as well as regular veterinary-sanitary control of bee families, systematic clinical examination of thereof, treatment and prevention of diseases that harm beekeeping. Samples were taken for analysis from several apiaries where disease symptoms were noted.

As part of the project, regular monitoring of apiaries will be implemented by specialists who manage the effective implementation of the production process. In the next phase, villagers who have successfully completed the training will be awarded certificates, bee families, as well as equipment, to support the expansion of private farms.

It is worth noting that "Support for the development of beekeeping" project aims to contribute to the development of the small business ecosystem in Dashkasan district and increase natural honey production, further improve the socio-economic status of local communities.
