
An educational initiative has been started to teach businesspeople from the capital and the regions on how to access financial resources, governmental assistance mechanisms in this field, such as concessional loans and subsidies, as well as to strengthen commercial ties between businessmen from the capital and regions. For this purpose, with the joint organization of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) and Marsol LLC, the partnership of the State Employment Agency and Kapital Bank, and the support of the Maricel Astara Resort hotel the "Development of Regional Partners" project was launched.
On December 9, Sheki hosted a conference dedicated to the presentation of the "Development of regional partners" project. Representatives of relevant state agencies, more than 200 entrepreneurs from Baku city and Sheki-Zagatala economic region attended the event.
Speaking at the event Elkhan Usubov, the head of the Sheki City Executive Authority, Orkhan Mammadov, the Chairman of the Board of KOBİA, and Vugar Iskanderov, MP of the Milli Majlis provided information about the support programmes offered to business owners, such as governmental concessional loans, subsidies, and new approaches to improving access to financial resources.
Tural Mustafayev, the chairman of the board of directors of Marsol LLC, Farid Hidayatzade, the general director of Kapital Bank's corporate and SME sales department, and Samir Alizade, the head of Maricel Real Estate, discussed the operations of the businesses they represent, collaboration with entrepreneurs, and how to take advantage of government support programmes.
By bringing together Baku and regional entrepreneurs, the conference created an opportunity for networking and joint investment initiatives among them.
A panel discussion on the subject of "Regional entrepreneurs’ opportunities of access to financial channels" was also organized as part of the event. Representatives from KOBİA, the Agrarian Credit and Development Agency, the Entrepreneurship Development Fund, the State Employment Agency, and Kapital Bank took part in the talks, which provided in-depth information on the subject and addressed queries from business owners.
As part of the "Development of Regional Partners" project, educational events will be held in Ganja, Astara and Guba in the next months.
