A device is already ready to rid honeybees of mites, which has been among the projects-winners of the first grant competition for financing educational, scientific, research, and support projects held by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) in connection with the development of micro, small, and medium business. The “ANTIVARROA” device relieving bee colonies of mites to increase their productivity was successfully tested on a beekeeping farm in the Uchtapa village of the Goygol region in August-September this year. Thus, two bee colonies were cleaned from mites during the tests.
One of the advantages of the device, developed by electronic engineers and beekeepers, is that it works without electricity in the field, far from settlements.
Currently, "Amir Technical Service" LLC is developing a version that will run on solar energy and preparing the device for mass production. The device has already been patented by the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Note that under the first grant competition held by the SMBDA for financing educational, scientific, research, and support projects of micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs, the Agency funded 15 projects. AZN 17,300 was allocated to “Amir Technical Service” LLC to implement the project “Developing a device of a national brand to relieve honeybees of mites”. SMBDA has also provided “Amir Technical Service” LLC with a “Startup” certificate, which exempts the relevant project from income taxes for 3 years.
