Discussions were held with businesses in the tourism sector to evaluate the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on this field. The Ministry of Economy organized a video conference with the participation of the representatives of the Ministry of Taxes, Small and Medium Business Development and State Tourism Agencies, the State Employment Service, National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers). The video conference highlighted that tourism was also affected by the negative impacts of the coronavirus pandemic. The entrepreneurs faced losses because of reduction of the flow of domestic and foreign tourists, cancellation of the pre-booked tours and hotel reservations, and postponement of various events; and discussed ways to minimize these impacts and made proposals.
Entrepreneurs were informed about the undertaken actions to minimize the impact of coronavirus infection on the private sector, including tourism, and the areas of the planned measures and relevant proposals.
Discussions carried out with entrepreneurs, emphasized the importance of further increasing the social responsibility of the private sector in the current situation in this regard, and recommended entrepreneurs to avoid layoffs, employee cutbacks, and show corporate social responsibility and public solidarity.
