Exhibition of local companies on the theme of "Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijani entrepreneurship" commenced 08.06.23

Over 150 companies are display their products and services at the exhibition of local companies on the theme of "Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijani entrepreneurship" and bilateral meetings are held between entrepreneurs.

The exhibition of local companies on the theme of "Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijani entrepreneurship" has started in "Baku Crystal Hall" with the support of the Ministry of Economy, the joint organization of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) and "Marsol Group", and the official partnership of "Kapital Bank".

Heads of relevant state bodies, representatives of public associations of entrepreneurs, as well as businessmen operating in various fields attended at the opening of the exhibition.

The event commenced with the singing of the national anthem of Azerbaijan followed by a minute's silence in memory of the great leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who made supreme sacrifice for the territorial integrity of our country.

Speaking at the event, Sahib Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan stated that the founder of the independent Azerbaijan and prominent statesman Heydar Aliyev, as in other fields, took an exceptional role in the formation and development of the economy, including the private sector, based on the principles of market relations in our country, and that the great leader's socio-economic development policy of Azerbaijan is being successfully pursued by the President Mr. Ilham Aliyev. He noted that the business and investment environment in our country is constantly improving, the legislative framework and support tools regulating entrepreneurial activity are being improved based on modern challenges. In the coming period, measures will be implemented to foster entrepreneurs and support businesses.

Goshgar Tahmazli, the chairman of Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency, reported that the Agency's activities are based on the principles of partnership with entrepreneurs, transparency and accountability, impartiality and objectivity, priority of consumer interests, innovation, productivity and result orientation, risk-based approach and compliance with international requirements. During the operation of the Agency, a number of business associations were established, 190 events were organized together with chambers of commerce, meetings were organized with over 21,900 entrepreneurs, and 35,084 enterprises were registered for food safety and included in the state register in order to inform and educate entrepreneurs about the food safety system, as well as to ensure public-private sector cooperation with businesspersons.

Orkhan Mammadov, the chairman of the Small and Medium Business Agency (KOBİA), reported on the fact that the development of small and medium businesses and expanding the role of SMBs in the economy are among the priority areas in our country, he also conveyed information on the measures taken in this field, the support and services provided by the Agency to SMBs.

Tural Mustafayev, the chairman of the Board of Directors of the "Marsol Group" and "National Association of Businessmen's Society" Public Union, and Farid Hidayatzade, member of the Board of Directors of "Kapital Bank" OJSC, conveyed information about the support provided to entrepreneurs in our country and the activities of the organizations they represent.

It was followed by the documentary feature film "First century of eternity. Heydar Aliyev - 100" dedicated to the life and activities of national leader Heydar Aliyev, the participants of the event familiarized themselves with the exhibition.

İt is worth underlining that support was also provided by the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Employment Agency, the National Association of Businessmen's Society, "Prestige Chemistry" LLC, "Gadabay Mineral Waters" Ltd, "Moon Group" and "BHB Strategic and Creative Media Agency". The exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev aims to commemorate once again the achievements of the great leader in the restoration and development of the entrepreneurship traditions in our country, as well as to promote wider recognition of Azerbaijani companies, increase their access to markets, develop the business partnerships between businessmen and establish new collaborations. Products and services of over 150 local companies operating in industry, agriculture, food, ICT, education, construction, logistics, textile and other fields are presented at the exhibition. The major benefit of the exhibition, which will be held until June 10, is the presentation of products and services for all sectors of the economy. Bilateral meetings between businesspeople will also be held as part of the exhibition.

KOBİA is represented at the exhibition with its own stand. With the support of the agency, 13 SMBs operating in the fields of food, agriculture, publishing, industry, ICT and services, including 2 women entrepreneurs from the Azerbaijan Women's Entrepreneurship Development Association, introduce their products and services.

As part of the exhibition, panel discussions will be held on June 9 in "Baku Crystal Hall" on the topics "Great return - investment opportunities and concessions in the liberated territories", and on June 10 "Economic transformation against the background of modern challenges: formation of competitive and sustainable businesses".
