At the Iraq-Azerbaijan business forum, economic and commercial links between the two countries, cooperation avenues and expansion of relations between business circles, prospects for mutual investment were subjects of discussion, as well as an agreement was reached on the establishment of the Azerbaijan-Iraq Business Council.
As part of the 3rd Meeting of the Joint Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Iraq, Baghdad hosted the First Iraqi-Azerbaijani business forum on December 6.
The event was attended by the officials and businesspersons from both countries, and was held with the support of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) and the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce. The business forum featured companies operating in food, furniture, logistics, construction, tourism, industry sectors, among others.
At the event, Rashad Nabiyev, Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Ali Nasir Al-Asadi, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Iraq, Sahib Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Economy, Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of KOBİA, and Zaman Sahib, Vice-president of the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce, informed about the economic and commercial relations between our countries, cooperation prospects and expansion of relations between business circles, avenues for mutual investment, as well as exchange of ideas was made on the above-stated matters. The formation of the Azerbaijan-Iraq Business Council was agreed upon at the business forum.
The business forum featured presentations by the relevant institutions of Azerbaijan and Iraq, B2B meetings between businesspersons.
