At the conference on "Ensuring transparency in the context of business and human rights", information was provided on the role of business entities in anti-corruption measures, the importance of informing entrepreneurs in this field, and measures implemented to protect their interests.
An international conference on "Ensuring transparency in the context of business and human rights" was held. Organized by the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the event was attended by representatives of state bodies, MPs and businesspersons.
At the event, Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) delivered information on the role of business entities in anti-corruption measures, importance of providing information to entrepreneurs in this field, protecting their interests and other support measures of the Agency. It was underlined that ensuring transparency and preventing corruption cases are among important approaches determining the development of the business environment. Within the scope of anti-corruption movement in our country, various measures are implemented in institutional, organizational and legal frameworks, and a legislative system is developed based on progressive practices. Business entities are also expected to contribute to anti-corruption measures. KOBİA provides information to entrepreneurs as part of anti-corruption measures, conducts surveys to study the extent of awareness of corruption of business entities, including the level of anti-corruption behaviour in the business environment. The agency holds trainings on transparency and anti-corruption in the business environment, protects the interests of SMBs, and operates SMB Houses where entrepreneurs can benefit from "G2B" and "B2B" services in a single space.
