A document has been signed between the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) and the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan in this regard.
Within the framework of the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan Business Forum held in Astana, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation concerning the implementation of Azerbaijan’s SME House model was signed between KOBIA and the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan.
The document was signed by Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of KOBIA, and Murat Karimsakov, Chairman of the Board of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan.
The Memorandum envisages cooperation on the application of Azerbaijan’s SME House model experience in Kazakhstan. Under the document, KOBIA will share its expertise with the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan on the establishment and operation of SME Houses - a “one-stop service” model for entrepreneurs. This cooperation will include organizing training programs and visits, providing advisory support for developing the necessary legal framework, assisting in adapting the services offered in SME Houses to meet the needs of Kazakh SMEs, as well as exchanging information on support infrastructure, and projects aimed at developing innovative and digital services for SMEs.
During the visit, KOBIA representatives also participated in the third meeting of the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan Business Council. In his remarks, Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of KOBIA, emphasized that the Business Council has become an important platform for expanding cooperation, experience exchange, and partnership opportunities between the entrepreneurs of both countries, and that the Agency supports such platforms. He noted that KOBIA, within the framework of the Business Council, facilitates the organization of business missions and meetings, as well as the implementation of joint projects with the participation of business representatives.
In addition, KOBIA representatives met with Kairat Sarybay, Secretary-General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA). The meeting, held at CICA’s new headquarters in Astana, focused on the activities carried out and planned within the framework of Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the organization. It should be noted that, by the decision of the CICA Ministerial Council, Azerbaijan holds the chairmanship of CICA for the period 2024–2026, and within this framework, KOBIA serves as the chair of the organization’s Business Council.
