KOBİA held the Azerbaijan-Jordan Investment Forum 18.04.22

Azerbaijani businessmen are on a working visit to Jordan. The purpose of the visit, organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) in coordination with the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Jordan, is to expand contacts between Azerbaijani and Jordanian businessmen and relevant agencies, discuss in relevant bodies opportunities for joint business and investment projects, development of trade relations and perspectives of access to the Jordanian market.

The delegation, led by KOBİA Chairman Orkhan Mammadov, includes representatives of relevant business support organizations and business associations in the country, as well as businessmen operating in the agricultural, food, tourism, health, education sectors and engaged in import and export operations.

During his visit to Jordan on April 17, in Amman, Chairman of the Board of KOBİA Orkhan Mammadov met with Jordan’s Minister of Investment Khairy Amr. At the meeting giving information about the visit program of KOBİA and the delegation of Azerbaijani businessmen, Orkhan Mammadov stressed that the development of cooperation between our countries in the field of trade and investment is one of the important directions. It was noted that the Agency is ready to support joint cooperation platforms for the exchange of information on business and investment initiatives, the organization of a business mission of Jordanian businessmen to Azerbaijan and their participation in exhibitions in our country. KOBİA is also interested in cooperating with relevant Jordanian agencies in exchanging potential investment projects and considering the possibility of establishing joint ventures.

Jordan's Minister of Investment Khairy Amr expressed satisfaction with the visit of a delegation of Azerbaijani business support organizations and businessmen to the country, shared his views on cooperation opportunities and expressed support for future joint initiatives.

During the meeting between KOBİA Board Chairman Orkhan Mammadov and Jordan Chamber of Industry Chairman Fathi Al-Jagber, they exchanged views on trade relations and prospects for cooperation between businessmen in this direction, and the Chamber's leadership and Jordanian businessmen were invited to visit Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, Orkhan Mammadov and Fathi Al-Jagber signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation. The document covers issues such as the exchange of information and experience in the field of entrepreneurship, the promotion of business contacts, the organization of joint events and meetings, and mutual business missions.

On the same day, the Jordan-Azerbaijan Economic and Investment Forum was held in Amman. The event was jointly organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) and the Jordan Businessmen's Association.

The forum was attended by Azerbaijani businessmen working in agriculture, tourism, hospitality, health and other fields. The Jordanian side was also represented at the business forum by businessmen working in relevant fields.

At the forum, Chairman of the Board of KOBİA Orkhan Mammadov informed the organizers of the event about the successful economic reforms carried out in our country, the favorable business and investment environment created for entrepreneurs, the support mechanisms of KOBİA.

Jordanian Minister of Investment Kheiry Amr, Chairman of the Jordan Businessmen's Association Hamdi Tabbaa, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Jordan Eldar Salimov and Jordanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Sami Asem Gosheh shared their views and proposals on economic and trade relations, business and investment potential and cooperation opportunities.

At the event executives of business support organizations in Azerbaijan - KOBİA, Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO), National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Pomegranate Producers and Exports Association of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan Food & Beverage Manufacturers Association and other businessmen made presentations on the prospects of cooperation in the field of business and trade, business opportunities in Azerbaijan, networking of businessmen.

The Jordan Ministry of Investment, the Social Investment Protection Fund, Jordan Free and Development Zones Group informed about the country's business opportunities, sectors for cooperation, and the implementation of joint projects with Azerbaijani entrepreneurs.

A Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation was signed between KOBİA and the Jordan Businessmen's Association within the forum.
