Opportunities for cooperation and joint initiatives were discussed at the meetings held with the attendance of relevant institutions of Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Türkiye.


As part of the Global Entrepreneurship Congress ("GEC2023") held in Melbourne, Australia, Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) met with representatives of the relevant institutions of Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Iraq.


Chairul Saleh, Director of Community Development and Entrepreneurship at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, shared his views on cooperation with SMBs operating in various fields of the economy.


At the meeting between Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of KOBİA, and Saud Alsabhan, Vice Governor of the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises of Saudi Arabia (MONSHAAT), joint initiatives and planned mutual visits were also discussed.


At the meeting with Husein Tahir, adviser to the Prime Minister of Iraq and director general of the "Riyadh Initiative", mutual ideas were shared on the establishment of cooperation with business supporting institutions of Iraq and coordination of the business circles of both countries.

 

The avenues of entrepreneurship, support of SMBs and viable cooperation opportunities were discussed with Sezai Hazir, vice president of TOBB Young Entrepreneurs Council and "GEN Türkiye", president of Habitat Association.


A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation was also signed as part of the visit between KOBİA, Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) and "GEN Azerbaijan". The document was signed by Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of KOBİA, Jonathan Ortmans, President of the Global Entrepreneurship Network, and Seymur Huseynov, Executive Director of "GEN Azerbaijan". The MoU provides for aspects of cooperation such as attracting investments to local start-up projects, connecting them with potential investors and funding sources, providing assistance in ensuring access to international markets, organizing seminars, training and mentoring programs, start-up competitions, joint entrepreneurship events to strengthen their skills and knowledge, expanding relations between Azerbaijan's entrepreneurship ecosystem and international research groups, providing exchange of knowledge and experience regarding entrepreneurship and start-up activities.
