During the event, KOBIA shared insights on the role of intellectual property in enhancing SME growth and competitiveness, as well as on the existing support mechanisms for the commercialization of intellectual property in Azerbaijan.

The Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) took part in the 21st Annual Meeting of the International Network for Small and Medium Enterprises (INSME), held in Spain.

This year’s event, dedicated to the theme “Safeguarding and Valuing Intangible Assets of Small and Medium Enterprises”, featured panel discussions and dialogues with the participation of representatives from government institutions, international organizations, and the private sector.

During the panel session titled “State Support for Intellectual Property in SMEs,” Zaur Gardashov, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of KOBIA, delivered a presentation highlighting the role of intellectual property in fostering SME growth and competitiveness, and the available support mechanisms for the commercialization of intellectual property in Azerbaijan. He also drew attention to ongoing efforts aimed at expanding existing support measures and facilitating startups’ access to European markets, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in this area.

It should be noted that KOBIA has been a member of INSME since 2020.
