KOBIA Representatives Participate in the Northern Borders Investment Forum Held in Saudi Arabia

During the forum, information was presented by KOBIA on Azerbaijan’s business and investment opportunities, as well as on the prospects for cooperation between entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia.

Representatives of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (KOBIA) participated in the Northern Borders Investment Forum held in the city of Arar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In his address at the forum, Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Management Board of KOBIA, highlighted the existence of successful economic relations between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia and provided information on the favorable business and investment environment created for entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan, as well as on KOBIA’s support mechanisms. It was noted that the Azerbaijan–Saudi Arabia Business Council creates new opportunities for establishing direct contacts between business communities of the two countries and for supporting entrepreneurial initiatives. Emphasis was also placed on the importance of strengthening B2B relations, promoting joint initiatives, and deepening institutional cooperation in order to transform the existing potential into concrete projects. KOBIA expressed its readiness to support Saudi investors in establishing and developing businesses in Azerbaijan within the scope of its mandate.

Within the framework of the forum, KOBIA held meetings with the Governor of the Northern Borders Province, Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Sultan Al Saud, Saudi Minister of Investment Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, Chief Executive Officer of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry Abdallah Obeikan, and Co-Chair of the Azerbaijan–Saudi Arabia Business Council Mehdi Hadi Alhatban. During the meetings, views were exchanged on strengthening business relations between the two countries and on new investment and partnership opportunities involving SMEs.
