The Memorandums of Understanding outline various measures to enhance cooperation in the field of SMBs.

The Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation was signed between the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) and Turkiye-Azerbaijan Business Council under the Foreign Economic Relations Committee of Turkiye (DEİK) within the framework of the 11th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkiye, held in Ankara. 

The document was signed by Mr. Orhan Mammadov, the Chairman of the Management Board of KOBİA and Mr. Erdal Eren, the Deputy Chairman of DEIK. The Memorandum of Understanding encompasses topics such as mutual exchange of information on import and development export between the two countries, collaboration in disseminating information to the business community regarding investment and industrial projects, and the coordination of joint events. In addition, the representatives of KOBİA participated in the Turkish-Azerbaijani business forum attended by officials and business forum from both countries. 

The event highlighted the measures undertaken by KOBİA and showcased promising opportunities for fostering relations between our countries in the realm of small and medium-sized businesses. It was highlighted that 11 memorandums of understanding and 2 protocols of intent have been signed between the relevant departments of KOBİA and Turkiye up to date. Recently, there has been a notable expansion of business relations between the regions of our countries. KOBİA leverages Turkiye's positive experience in organization of entrepreneurs and SMB support mechanisms. The majority of support mechanisms provided through the Agency to small and medium-sized businesses are derived from Turkiye's successful experiences.

The meeting was also held between Mr. Orkhan Mammadov, the Chairman of the Management Board of KOBİA, and Mrs.Zehra Zümrut Seljuk, the Director General of the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) within the visit. During the meeting, discussions encompassed KOBİA's assistance in enhancing the knowledge and skills of entrepreneurs, opportunities for mutual exchange of experts, the facilitation of events fostering stronger cooperation between business circles, and the organization's backing for the Azerbaijani Halal Business and Tourism Forum, scheduled to be held in Baku in the current year. Within the framework of meeting, the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between KOBİA and SESRIC was signed. The document entails enhancing cooperation between the parties and undertaking suitable measures to advance relations between the two countries in the realm of SMBs, as well as exchanging information and experiences, conducting training programs in entrepreneurship, and executing joint projects.
