June 27 is the day of micro, small and medium entrepreneurs in the world. In this regard, at the UN Headquarters in New York with the organization of the International Council on Small Business, and with the support of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the Industrial Development Organization(UNIDO) and others conference was held on "Sustainability and Reconstruction: SMEs for Sustainable Development".

Our country was represented at the event by the leadership of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA).

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Board of KOBİA Orkhan Mammadov noted that the level of development, diversification and innovation of SMEs is an indicator of the level of development of countries. It was noted that SMEs in Azerbaijan, as well as around the world, contribute to employment, economic growth and sustainable development. SMEs account for 99% of entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan. Orkhan Mammadov informed about the activities of KOBİA, measures taken to support SMEs in our country and support tools.

It should be noted that according to the UN General Assembly resolution on sustainable development goals, as well as its contribution to sustainable economic development, this date has been celebrated since 2017 under the slogan "The great impact of small business."
