Meeting held with entrepreneurs in Shaki on self-employment

During the event, entrepreneurs were informed about co-financing of wages at social jobs, targeted programs, vocational training, and the self-employment program, and their questions were answered.

A meeting titled “Existing opportunities, challenges, and prospects in the field of self-employment” was held with entrepreneurs in the city of Shaki. The event was organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) and brought together representatives of the State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, specifically the Shaki–Zagatala Regional Employment Branch, the Shaki State Vocational Education Center, the State Tourism Agency (Shaki Regional Tourism Office), the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan (Shaki–Zagatala Regional Division), Marsol Group LLC, as well as around 30 entrepreneurs operating in the region.

At the meeting, the State Employment Agency presented information on support mechanisms for entrepreneurship, including co-financing of wages at social jobs, targeted programs, vocational training, and the self-employment program, and responded to entrepreneurs’ questions. In addition, an exchange of views took place between representatives of state bodies and entrepreneurs.

It should be noted that the self-employment program creates favorable opportunities for starting entrepreneurial activity. In this regard, KOBIA cooperates closely with the State Employment Agency. KOBIA supports the self-employment program in two main directions.

The first includes awareness-raising, technical support for registration, coordination with employment branches, joint assessment of candidates’ economic activities, and participation in the training process and asset allocation for program participants.

Under the second direction, the Agency supports the business development of self-employment program participants by providing advisory services, assistance with business planning, and support in accessing sales markets.
