A meeting was held within the framework of the Azerbaijan - Saudi Arabia Joint Business Council, attended by the Co-Chairs of the Council - Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) Orkhan Mammadov and Mehdi Hadi Alhatban - as well as other members of the Council.

During the online meeting, the Chairman of KOBIA emphasized the Agency’s cooperation with relevant institutions of Saudi Arabia to foster active development of relations between Azerbaijani and Saudi entrepreneurs and to support joint projects. He underlined that entrepreneurs are provided with assistance to further expand these relations. Mr. Mammadov congratulated Mehdi Hadi Alhatban on his appointment as Co-Chair of the Council and expressed confidence that this platform would contribute to the deepening of bilateral ties.

The Co-Chair of the Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia Joint Business Council, Mehdi Hadi Alhatban, emphasized that both countries possess vast potential for business and investment, noting that entrepreneurs could establish mutually beneficial partnerships by capitalizing on these opportunities. It was further highlighted that Saudi business circles show particular interest in investment and business activities in sectors such as tourism, real estate, and franchising.

At the meeting, discussions focused on the future activities of the Business Council, including the regular exchange of information on sectors and projects of interest to the Saudi Arabia side, the organization of sector-specific business missions between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia, the continued engagement of active entrepreneurs in this platform, as well as the holding of the next Council meeting in Baku and matters related to investment. It was also decided to prepare an Action Plan covering the issues discussed during the meeting.

It should be noted that the Azerbaijan - Saudi Arabia Joint Business Council was established in 2022 in Baku within the framework of the session of the Joint Commission on cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the fields of economy, trade, investment, technology, culture, sports, and youth. The Council was created by KOBIA and the Federation of Saudi Chambers. To date, six meetings of the Business Council have been held. Bringing together business representatives from both countries, the Council supports entrepreneurial initiatives, facilitates direct contacts, helps organize reciprocal visits, meetings, and various events, and promotes information exchange among business circles.
