The report of the Agency for 2022 and the first half of 2023 was presented, plans for 2024 and other current issues were discussed at the following meeting of the Supervisory Board of KOBİA.


The next meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) was held.


Information was provided on the activities of KOBİA in the first half of 2022 and 2023, the priority directions of development set for 2024, the development of SMBs, measures and other issues on the agenda were discussed at the meeting chaired by Mikayil Jabbarov, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, the Minister of Economy.


Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of KOBİA made a presentation on the activities of the Agency during the relevant period and provided information on the work carried out for the development of SMBs such as increasing their knowledge and skills, expanding their access to financial resources and sales markets and protecting their interests. 22 SMB development centers held more than 1,000 trainings for the benefit of some 12,000 SMB entities and those seeking to start a business, provided consulting services to more than 2,200 SMBs and developed more than 500 business plans during the reporting period. 51 "Startup" certificates, which provide tax benefits for innovative activities for micro and small entrepreneurs were issued and the number of SMBs receiving this document reached 105. 747,000 manat grants have been allocated to the projects by 40 SMBs in the areas of education, science, research and support. 18 internal market research studies were conducted at the request of entrepreneurs and at the initiative of KOBİA. 1133 SMBs were supported to take part in 23 exhibitions. 25 SMBs benefited from the support mechanism on access to trade networks during the reporting period. The number of existing SMB friend offices has now reached 46 with the establishment of 20 new offices providing on-site support and services to SMBs. The number of SMB houses has risen to 3 by 2023 as a result of the establishment of the "Baku SMB House" which provides services by state and private institutions to entrepreneurs in a single space. Positive growth dynamics in the number of entrepreneurs using the services of SMB houses are observed each year. SMB houses provided more than 73,000 services to entrepreneurs in 2022, and more than 197,000 in the first half of 2023. 14 surveys were conducted with the attendance of over 3300 SMBs during the reporting period. Applications from 6 SMBs under the SMB cluster mechanism implemented this year, have been received and relevant work is underway in this direction.


The opinions of the members of the Supervisory Board were heard, discussions were held, and relevant decisions were made on the mentioned directions and other issues at the meeting.


Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Economy and members of the Supervisory Board got acquainted with the activities of "Baku SMB House" and met with the staff of KOBİA as part of the meeting.
