Meeting with entrepreneurs in Lerik: SMB friend presented to the business community of the Lerik 19.12.23

The number of SMB Friend offices in Lankaran-Astara economic region has reached 5, and 47 across the country.

The Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) opened its fifth SMB Friend office in the Lankaran-Astara economic region. Hence, the number of SMB Friend offices providing on-site support and service to entrepreneurs has increased to 47 across the country.

On December 19, a meeting with entrepreneurs was held in Lerik district, and an introduction to the SMB Friend office was held. At the meeting held with the relevant state bodies and entrepreneurs operating in the region, they shared their views on the needs of business, challenges facing entrepreneurs, as well as proposals were heard.

Akbar Abbasov, Head of the Lerik District Executive Power, and Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of KOBİA, were given the floor at the meeting. Speaking at the event, they highlighted the potential for business in the Lankaran-Astara economic region, state support for the development of entrepreneurship, innovations in this field, including the support and services of KOBİA for micro, small and medium entrepreneurs. It was stated that Lerik district focuses primarily on agriculture. There are also numerous opportunities for business activities in areas such as tourism, animal husbandry and beekeeping. 5 SMB Friend offices in the region assist in establishing new businesses, expanding business activities, solutions to businesspeople's problems and ensuring protection of their legal interests. With the 5th SMB Friend office in in Lerik, the SMB Friend network has reached 5 of the 6 administrative districts that comprise the Lankaran-Astara economic district. SMB Friends provide service to the entrepreneurs of the surrounding cities and regions in addition to their operation area.

Films about the SMB Friend mechanism, support provided by KOBİA to micro and small entrepreneurs were also displayed at the event, as well as entrepreneurs` questions were addressed.

Subsequently, the event participants got acquainted with the exquisite environment created for providing support and services to entrepreneurs in the SMB Friend office located in the administrative building of the Lerik District Executive Power.

During their tour to the district, KOBİA representatives became acquainted with the activities of beekeeping in Lankaran and were interested in the business needs of entrepreneurs. It is worth highlighting that the owner of the relevant farm received a grant from KOBİA for the development of equipment that promotes productivity in beekeeping.
