Gakh, one of our regions with abundant ground and underground water resources, minerals, and therapeutic springs, is known for its enigmatic nature. It is no coincidence that new businesses have emerged and that business owners in the area have focused more on the manufacturing and packaging of table water in recent years. One of these businesses is the mineral water production company, which is situated on the village of Gakhbash in the area.
Regional correspondent of AZERTAG visited the village and took an interest in the operations of the enterprise.
The plastic packaging production line operates in the enterprise established in 2004. The total area of the enterprise is 1500 square meters. The production space, warehouse, kitchen, and administration rooms are all included. The enterprise was outfitted with sophisticated, Russian- and Ukrainian-made technological equipment. Plastic 0.33, 0.5, and 1-litre containers are used to manufacture both carbonated and non-carbonated table waters. The enterprise also packs water in plastic containers with capacities of 5, 10, 18, and 19 litres.
According to the director of the enterprise, Rashad Farziyev, the water used here takes its source from springs that flow from the nearby highlands and has a rich mineral composition and high quality indicators. Prior to being released into the production process, the water is passed through purification devices, rough and softening filters, coal in multiple stages, "Osmos" equipment is used to clear the lime content, and it is then loaded into tanks. After that, the production line receives the water from the tanks, where containers are filled, sealed, labelled and packaged. Up to 450 tons of water are bottled by the enterprise each month, or 24–25 tons every day. During the summer, the daily production rises to 30 tons in line with the demand. The domestic market is where this water is sold. There are now 37 people employed by the enterprise.
The head of the enterprise, who conveyed information about the water quality indicators, stated: "The water we produce is rich in minerals. TDS indicators, turbidity rate are significantly lower than in other water brands. The excessive amount of pollutants in hard water make it difficult to digest, negatively impact human health, and lead to a host of disorders."
Rashad Farziyev highlighted that the enterprise plans to produce carbonated and non-carbonated water in glass bottles, as well as different types of lemonade in the future.
It is noteworthy that the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) has provided support to the enterprise in order to expand the activities of the mineral water production enterprise and improve the quality of service, provided support to the business entity and this support is still in place. The representative of KOBİA for Gakh district – SMB Friend Imam Imamli informed the regional correspondent of AZERTAG that the Agency closely assisted the enterprise in the process of registration of the newly founded lemonade brand in the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan. "The enterprise also submitted an application to the authorized loan organization that cooperates with the Entrepreneurship Development Fund to benefit from the concessional loan of the state. In addition, the enterprise intends to benefit from the investment promotion mechanism, which opens up a number of tax and customs benefits. The business applied for an investment promotion document from the Ministry of Economy for this reason, and work in this direction is still ongoing. As KOBİA, we always support the entrepreneur in all of these procedures, offering guidance, coordination, and information as needed. Generally speaking, we as an Agency conduct sectoral and educational meetings with entrepreneurs operating in the region and inform them about state support mechanisms and developments in the field of entrepreneurship," Imam Imamli stated.
