More than 900 SMEs and prospective entrepreneurs have enhanced their business knowledge and skills with state support

The training and consulting services provided to SMEs and potential entrepreneurs have primarily focused on sales and the application of innovations.

State-supported initiatives continue to be implemented to equip SMEs and individuals aspiring to start a business with relevant knowledge and skills, to enhance and improve their existing competencies, and to provide professional consulting services.

In January–June 2025, nearly 70 free training sessions were organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) for this purpose. These trainings, tailored to the learning needs of SMEs, primarily covered topics such as sales, marketing, accounting, human resources management, branding, implementation of innovations in business, business planning, project management, the “green economy,” and other subjects. In total, approximately 470 business entities and prospective entrepreneurs from Baku and various regions of the country participated in the trainings. To enable more SMEs to benefit from the free sessions, some trainings were held in an online format.

At the same time, 301 individuals benefited free of charge from the online training videos available on the video training platform established by KOBIA.

In the first half of the current year, KOBIA provided professional consulting services to 140 entrepreneurs and individuals intending to start a business on issues such as access to sales channels, marketing, business planning, accounting, and legal matters.

With the Agency’s support, 128 business plans were prepared free of charge to establish and expand businesses in agriculture, production, services, and other sectors.

In total, during the first half of 2025, more than 900 SMEs, startups, and individuals aspiring to start a business benefited from KOBIA’s support tools such as training, consulting services, business plan preparation, and the video training platform to enhance their business knowledge and skills and to access essential information in the field of entrepreneurship.
