As of July 1, the number of private entrepreneurs registered to conduct business activities without setting up a legal entity exceeded 1.275 thousand.


According to the State Statistics Committee, three out of every four private entrepreneurs are engaged in "Agriculture, forestry and fishing", "Trade; repair of motor vehicles", "Transport and warehousing" and "Providing services in other fields" are registered in this period.


The majority of private entrepreneurs seeking to engage in business activities are registered in Baku (27.0 percent), Lankaran-Astara (10.2 percent), Gazakh-Tovuz (7.8 percent) and Central Aran (7.0 percent) economic regions.


77.6 percent of private entrepreneurs were men, and 22.4 percent were women. The ratio of women among the total number of entrepreneurs stands at 34.1 in the field of "Providing services in other fields" activity, 25.0 percent in the field of "Agriculture, forestry and fishing", 21.3 percent in the field of "Trade; repair of motor vehicles". 29.2 percent of female entrepreneurs were registered in Baku, 10.3 percent in Lankaran-Astara, 9.5 percent in Gazakh-Tovuz, and the rest in other economic regions. The gender distribution of private entrepreneurs by regions reveals that the proportion of female entrepreneurs in the economic regions of Gazakh-Tovuz (27.2 percent), Ganja-Dashkasan (25.5 percent), Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (24.8 percent), Baku (24.2 percent) and Lankaran-Astara (22.5 percent) is higher than the national average.
