Online platform for entrepreneurs seeking to expand their networks 17.11.23

Large financial resources are not always required for the implementation of economic undertakings. Start-up ventures are those software and technology-driven projects that are based on economic innovation. The scope of start-up ventures, which were first launched in the United States, has grown significantly in recent years. More and more people are starting to take an interest in these projects in Azerbaijan as well.

A variety of official entities such as the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA), provide state support for start-ups in our country.

SMB entities that have been awarded a Startup certificate are exempted from profit and income tax on their income from innovation activities for a period of 3 years.

Only in January-September 2023, KOBİA received 77 applications from micro and small entrepreneurs for the issuance of the Startup certificate. According to the "Startup Determination Criteria" approved by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers dated January 29, 2021, over the feedback of the Council of Experts, 24 SMBs, 23 of which are micro and 1 are small entrepreneurs, were awarded such certificates. So far, the number of SMBs that have received the Startup certificate is 110, and their projects ranging from mobile applications and online services with innovative solutions in fintech, education, healthcare, tourism, business digitalization, and e-commerce.

Ramin Akbarov, a natural person, is one of the entrepreneurs who recently received a Startup certificate. Conveying information about the digital business-networking platform he launched (www.bucard.az), R. Akbarov stated that the major resource required to launch this project was human capital. The project, which has been developed for nearly 1.5 years, is designed for entrepreneurs seeking to expand their networks. “Bucard”, a cutting-edge digital business card platform, was created to be a transformative and innovative drive in business networking and professional relationship management. Within a consolidated and simplified platform, it provides users with handy tools to design digital business cards, enhance profiles with additional information, promote products and services, and research prospects for potential business keywords.

According to the start-up entrepreneur, this platform facilitates interactions by providing businesspersons with digital business cards, a state-of-the-art solution for simplifying business relationships: "Bucard" not only provides personalization, but also makes information sharing process easier. This system enables very simple information sharing between users through QR code, NFC and a unique search system, empowering to construct a comprehensive profile by entering information in numerous categories. The platform speeds up the formation of relevant interactions based on keywords or specific criteria, combining all business connections within an accessible location." The start-up entrepreneur added that on the versatile platform, in addition to presenting product and service catalogues, users will be able to make video presentations, display their work and services, and incorporate a portfolio function that allows them to mark their business locations on the map. These catalogued cards virtually outperform standard business cards.

The advantage of Bucard is its advertising functionality. Users subscribing to the "Personal" and "Business" packages are able to boost their market prospects and their reputation by introducing their products and services to "Bucard" users. Through the platform, users can connect with potential customers and boost their sales.

The platform, which has over 100 active uses, is currently being completed and will be fully functional in the near future.
