There is an extensive infrastructure network of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) for the aims of realization of existing business potential in the regions, creation of new SMEs and expansion of entrepreneurial activity, as well as support for investment initiatives of businessmen. Entrepreneurs seeking to embark on business activities or expand their existing ventures may apply for support and services through KOBIA’s SME Houses, the SME Friend network covering over 50 cities and districts, and the SME Development Centers.

It is worth noting that to date, KOBIA has allocated over 300,000 manats in grant funding to 18 projects implemented or currently ongoing in the regions. “Startup” certificates have been awarded to 40 entrepreneurial entities operating in regional areas. To support the promotion and sales of products and services, 16 exhibitions and fairs have been organized across the regions with the participation of nearly 930 business entities. Nearly 15 of the entrepreneurs who have benefited from the mechanism supporting access to retail chains are from the regions. Additionally, based on requests from entrepreneurs engaged in the production of new products and services in the regions, and on KOBIA’s own initiative, three domestic market research studies have been conducted.

To date, the Agency has organized over 3,000 free training sessions and up to 80,000 hours of consultancy services for entrepreneurs operating in the regions and individuals aspiring to start a business. Nearly 700 of the business plans developed with KOBIA’s support have been tailored for regional entrepreneurs or projects intended to be implemented in the regions.

To enhance awareness among regional entrepreneurs about innovations and current challenges in the business landscape, as well as existing government support mechanisms and to identify and address their issues, needs, and suggestions in collaboration with relevant institutions KOBIA has thus far organized nearly 580 sectoral meetings and awareness-raising events with the participation of over 20,000 entrepreneurs.
