Representatives of KOBIA participated in WCF Africa 2025 Summit

As part of their visit to Kenya, representatives of KOBIA held a series of meetings and addressed questions from Kenyan entrepreneurs regarding Azerbaijan’s business environment and investment opportunities.

With the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Kenya, representatives of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) visited Nairobi to participate in the World Chambers Federation Africa Summit (“WCF Africa 2025”) and to explore avenues for cooperation in the field of entrepreneurship, as well as to exchange best practices in supporting and servicing SMEs.

At the event, which brought together representatives of chambers of commerce and business leaders from nearly 70 countries around the world, KOBIA representatives engaged in dialogue and exchanged views and experiences with relevant institutions and organizations.

As part of the visit, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA), Orkhan Mammadov, held meetings with Floice Mukabana, CEO of the Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency (KEPROBA); Ahmed Farah, CEO of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI); Mustafa Ramadhan, Vice President of KNCCI; Vyckliff Oparanya, Cabinet Secretary for the Development of Cooperatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises of Kenya; Hasan Al Hashemi, Vice President of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce; and Gennadiy Chyzhykov, President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The discussions focused on the prospects for enhancing trade relations between Kenya and Azerbaijan, the involvement of SMEs in bilateral trade, cooperation among entrepreneurs, institutional partnerships between business support organizations, experience sharing in the field of entrepreneurship, and exploring mutual business opportunities.

KOBIA representatives also met with Kenyan businesspeople interested in engaging in business activities and making investments in Azerbaijan. During the meeting, detailed information was provided about the opportunities created for entrepreneurship in the country, available incentives, priority sectors for business operations and investment, as well as the support the Agency can offer to foreign investors and entrepreneurs seeking to establish a presence in Azerbaijan. The representatives also responded to the participants’ inquiries and interests.

In addition, during the visit, KOBIA representatives visited the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Kenya.
