The representatives of the International Trade Centre (ITC), currently visiting Azerbaijan for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) held in Baku visited "Baku SMB House."
The representatives of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) and the "Baku SMB House" shared detailed information with ITC representatives about the activities of the SMB House, which operates as a one stop shop service center for entrepreneurs. It was emphasized that offering both G2B and B2B services at a single location within SMB Houses helps entrepreneurs to save time and reduce operational costs. lso, the Startup Development Center and a training center operate here for startups.
Currently, SMB Houses cover three cities in the country. Efforts are actively underway to expand the network of SMB Houses accross several major cities and regions. It was noted that the SMB House model is among the leading innovative initiatives in the business sector worldwide. Therefore, in 2024, the OECD's Research Centre on Innovation in the Public Sector recognized Azerbaijan's SMB House model as one of the best innovative practices, commending it as a leading model of excellence. The ITC delegation expressed great interest in the activities of the "Baku SMB House" and highlighted it as one of the most unique models in supporting SMBs.
