Representatives of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan attended the 12th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Ukraine Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, and the round table organized within the event in Kyiv.
Speaking at the meeting of the Commission, and the Ukraine-Azerbaijan round table, Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of SMBDA, highlighted that both countries have great potential in small and medium business (SMB), and the importance of organizing various activities to expand relations among SMBs, and provided information about the state support for the development of the SMB sector in the country and the activities of SMBDA in this area. SMBDA made proposals on identification of areas of cooperation, establishment of the Azerbaijani-Ukrainian Business Council to build direct and close relations among entrepreneurs, establishment of active relationships among business associations, studying the experience of Ukraine in the field of public-private partnership, and establishment of joint ventures to develop relations between our countries in the field of SMB.
SMBDA and the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a memorandum of cooperation within the 12th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Ukraine Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation. Issues related to the exchange of information and experience, and organization of joint activities to expand cooperation between SMBs are envisaged in the document signed between Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of SMBDA, and Gennady Chizhikov, the president of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
