SMBDA delegation visited Nakhchivan 18.03.21

The delegation of the Azerbaijani Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) is in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The purpose of the trip is to inform the Nakhchivan entrepreneurs on the Agency’s activity and the services provided to micro, small, and medium businesses, and discuss the proposals for supporting SMBs with the relevant structures of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

On March 18, the representatives of SMBDA, the Ministry of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the Confederation of Entrepreneurs, and other relevant structures held a meeting with entrepreneurs in the Nakhchivan Business Center. At the event, the Chairman of the SMBDA Board Orkhan Mammadov made a presentation and provided detailed information on the Agency’s activity and support and services provided to SMBs. He noted that to achieve the goals set for SMBs, the Agency encouraged the use of a number of support mechanisms, measures were being taken to create new support tools, and the efficiency of support mechanisms and tools was regularly estimated and improved based on the audit results. The goal is to make state support mechanisms more useful for entrepreneurs and create more favorable conditions for their development. Currently, the Agency provides support to entrepreneurs in studying the internal market, participating in exhibitions, clustering, start-up activities, developing knowledge and skills, and funding projects. Orkhan Mammadov provided detailed information on each support mechanism, noted that entrepreneurs receive this support and services through SMB Houses, the SMB Friend network, and the SME Development Centers, and invited Nakhchivan’s entrepreneurs to actively cooperate with SMBDA and use the services provided.

At the event, films about the SMBDA’s activity and support mechanisms were demonstrated and the entrepreneurs’ questions were answered.

Then the Chairman of the SMBDA Board Orkhan Mammadov met with the Minister of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Tapdig Aliyev and the Chairman of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs Vugar Abbasov. At the meeting, the opportunities of cooperation in the field of SMBs and the use of the Agency's support and services by Nakhchivan entrepreneurs were discussed.

The SMBDA representatives also got acquainted with the exhibition of Nakhchivan products in the Nakhchivan Business Center and the activities of some industrial enterprises.
