The Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan held the next meeting with entrepreneurs operating in the field of public catering and trade to study the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection spread worldwide on local entrepreneurs.
More than 30 business entities operating in the public catering and trade sectors attended the meeting.
Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of SMBDA, noted that the Agency holds meetings with SMBs and conducts surveys to study the impact of coronavirus infection spread worldwide on the activities of local entrepreneurs, especially small and medium businesses (SMBs) operating in various sectors of the economy. Taking into account a large number of SMBs operating in the field of public catering and trade, the next meeting was organized in this area. The aim is to examine the impacts of coronavirus infection on the public catering and trade sectors and the problems faced by SMBs, to discuss solutions to minimize possible impacts and to study the expectations and proposals of entrepreneurs.
At the meeting, businesses operating in the public catering and trade sectors noted that the limited use of the services of restaurants, shops and shopping centers because of the coronavirus infection affected the business, the ways out of the problem were discussed, and various proposals were made by entrepreneurs.
A survey was conducted among the participating entrepreneurs to assess the impact of coronavirus infection on business activities. In general, SMBDA surveyed more than 500 businesses operating in the public catering and trade sectors to identify the impact of the coronavirus on the relevant sector.
The proposals made at the meeting and the results of the survey will be summarized and submitted to the relevant agencies.
