A conference on "The role of women's entrepreneurship in the economic development of Karabakh and East Zangazur" was organized by the New Azerbaijan Party and the Parliamentary Committee on Family, Women and Children.

At the event with the participation of relevant government agencies, parliamentarians and women entrepreneurs, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) Orkhan Mammadov informed about the support and services provided by the Agency to women entrepreneurs. It was noted that taking into account the development priorities and national characteristics of the country's economy, SMBDA is taking appropriate measures to promote the development of women's entrepreneurship and increase the number of women among small and medium entrepreneurs. In 2021, about 9,000 women entrepreneurs and women wishing to start their own businesses benefited from the trainings organized by the Agency's SME Development Centers, including 65 women within the "My School" project jointly implemented by SMBDA, the State Employment Agency and the United Aid for Azerbaijan (UAFA). 3 women entrepreneurs were awarded grants and 4 women entrepreneurs were awarded Startup certificates. SMBDA is ready to support women entrepreneurs to contribute to the socio-economic development of the Karabakh and East Zangazur economic regions.
