As part of "Caspian Agro" and "InterFood Azerbaijan" exhibitions, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation was signed between KOBİA and Azerbaijan Food and Beverage Industry Association.


The 16th Azerbaijan International Agriculture ("Caspian Agro") and the 28th Azerbaijan International Food Industry ("InterFood Azerbaijan") exhibitions have started their work in Baku Expo Center.


As in previous years, this year with the support of KOBİA, micro and small entrepreneurs introduce their products and services at no cost at the "Caspian Agro" and "InterFood Azerbaijan" exhibitions. At a special stand set up at the expense of state support provided by KOBİA, 12 micro and small business entities exhibit various sweets, spices, oils, jams and pickles, saffron, coffee, wine, irrigation systems and greenhouse equipment, drones, fodder, etc. products as well as services. SMBs representing the cities of Baku, Sumgait, Shirvan, Absheron, Aghdam and Kurdamir districts also hold various business meetings at the stand to expand sales opportunities and establish new business ties.


At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Orkhan Mammadov, the Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) pointed out to the importance of exhibitions to expand the sales opportunities of SMBs and promote their products and services. The agriculture and food industry has proven to be among the sectors where SMBs are most active. KOBİA also supports SMBs operating in these fields as part of various services and mechanisms. The great economic potential and investment attractiveness of the liberated territories and the fact that they have reserves of fertile land for agriculture prone to opportunities for the agricultural sector and the food industry. Translating this   this potential into reality as part of public-private sector cooperation will contribute to the development of the agricultural and food industry, and the country's economy in general. The agency is one of the institutions supporting the "Caspian Agro" and "InterFood Azerbaijan" exhibitions. In addition, the products and services of SMBs in the agricultural and food sectors are presented at a special stand hosted by KOBİA, which aims to expand their market access and sales opportunities.


A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation was signed between KOBİA and Azerbaijan Food and Beverage Industry Association (AQISA) as part of the exhibition. The document was signed between Orkhan Mammadov, the Chairman of the Board of KOBİA and Emin Dostiyari, the Chairman of the Board of AQISA. The document stipulates a wide range of measures such as organizing educational events, training and consultancy services to support the expansion of knowledge and skills of SMBs operating in the food sector, providing support for the exhibition of the products of SMBs at local and foreign events, the study of the current state of the domestic market, strengthening coordination among SMBs, conducting surveys and research among local SMBs to increase the range of food industry products, realizing joint cooperation to study and tackle challenges, promoting the sale of SMB products over online platforms and providing support for cultivating ties  with foreign partners.


It is worth noting that "Caspian Agro" and "InterFood Azerbaijan" exhibitions will last until May 19. The exhibitions display the products and services of nearly 500 companies from over 30 countries.
