Vast majority of the 91 "Startup" certificates awarded to SMBs have been presented to projects in the service sector.

From January to March 2023, 10 "Startup" certificates were introduced to micro and small business entities, bringing the total number of "Startup" certificates to 91 so far. 83 of the SMB entities that received the "Startup" certificate are micro, 8 are small business entities.

Major part of the certificates were submitted to projects in the field of service, of which up to 90% are software and mobile applications.

13 of the SMBs that presented the "Startup" certificate are women.

It is worth noting that business entities that have received the "Startup" certificate are exempted from profit and income tax on their income from innovation activities for a period of 3 years from the date of receipt of the certificate. Micro and small business entities whose projects are under development will be eligible  to apply to KOBİA for a "Startup" certificate.
