On October 7, the 3rd Conference of Republican Pharmacists was organized by the "Pharmaceutical Club" Public Union with the support of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA).
With the involvement of representatives of pertinent governmental bodies, educational institutions, pharmaceutical industry businesses, and pharmacists, the event covered the current situation of the sector, development possibilities, and approaches to overcoming challenges in this area.
The event began with a minute of silence commemorating the dear memory of our martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Chairman of "Pharmaceutical Club" Public Union Shovgi Bunyatov informed about the activities of the organization, noted that the conference was organized in order to discuss the current situation of the sector, prospective development opportunities and challenges of companies operating in the field of pharmaceuticals. It was reported that the development of the sector is supported by the state. However, the pharmaceutical field also has a number of challenges, and the activity of sector representatives is important in solving these problems.
Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency, noted that increasing the competitiveness of entrepreneurs operating in the field of pharmaceuticals, adapting their services to higher quality and modern standards is one of the priorities. The growth of the pharmaceutical and medical industries was said to have been the subject of major effort done in Azerbaijan both before and during the pandemic. Pirallahi Industrial Park, specializing in pharmaceuticals, is of great importance in this business. Orkhan Mammadov informed about the Agency's support for the creation of some auxiliary sub-fields of the medical sector, and pointed out that business entities operating in the pharmaceutical sector can use various support and services of KOBİA.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Health Minister Rasim Ismayilov noted that the health sector is always in the focus of the head of state's attention, informed about the work done in the field of pharmaceuticals and the measures planned in this field.
Tamilla Aliyeva, Vice-Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Institute of Food Safety, Rauf Baylarov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the Azerbaijan Medical University, as well as representatives of local pharmaceutical distribution companies and businessmen shared their views at the event.
