The 7th meeting of the Business Council under the Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (ICA) was held in the city of Astana.

In an online held meeting, Orhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Management Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA), delivered on the priority issues on the Business Council’s agenda during Azerbaijan's chairmanship of ICA in 2025-2026. It was highlighted that priority will be given to establishing a dynamic platform aimed at fostering the development of SMBs through collaboration, innovation, and the transition to sustainable economic models. Promoting the transition to green economy, strengthening digital transformation, e-commerce and cross-border trade, advancing women’s entrepreneurship, and supporting innovations in sustainable agriculture and food security will be among the priorities of the Business Council. Also, during KOBİA's chairmanship of the Business Council, organization of  mutual business missions and expansion of  B2B relationships will be actively supported. An exhibition is also planned to be organized within the framework of ICA Business Forum to be held in Azerbaijan. This will help businesses from member states to showcase their products and services, to establish new connections in the region, and to strengthen cooperation in trade and investment.

Also, during the meeting, KOBİA representative Amir Shirinbayli, informed about green initiatives implemented in Azerbaijan, while Samir Abdullayev, Chairman of the Trade Networks Association, shared insights on the sustainable development of SMBs.

It is worth noting that during Azerbaijan's chairmanship of ICA in 2025-2026, KOBİA is to chair the Business Council. The chairmanship of the Business Council under ICA will be transferred to KOBİA starting from December of the current year.
