The winners of the grant competition held by the Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan jointly with the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) have been determined.
7 projects submitted by non-governmental organizations were announced winners in the grant competition held jointly with SMBDA. These projects are aimed at increasing the role of entrepreneurs with disabilities and other vulnerable groups in ensuring sustainable economic development and solving existing problems in this area. The topics covered included developing computer skills to improve skills of women entrepreneurs to enhance their access to online sales, awareness raising about commercial risks arising from entrepreneurship and management skills, expand economy related knowledge of SMEs in the region, trainings on topics such as "Business Improvement" for women entrepreneurs affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, "Women's Movement in Technology" and "The role of entrepreneurs in ensuring sustainable economic development in Azerbaijan"
The online meeting chaired by the Chairman of the Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, MP Azay Guliyev and the Chairman of the Board of SMBDA, Mr. Orkhan Mammadov with the winners of the grant competition focused on the expansion of relations between government agencies, developing NGO-government relations, and ensuring transparency. The Council announced 7 grant competitions among NGOs on June 2-22. Four of the grant competitions were held jointly with various government agencies, including SMBDA. Projects were submitted by 12 NGOs to the competition organized jointly with SMBDA, and 7 of these projects were declared winners.
Speaking at the online meeting, the NGO leaders informed about the projects and said they would work for the effective implementation of the projects.
