The following international event - Shusha Turkic Business Forum took place

On September 16, the city of Shusha hosted the Shusha Turkic Business Forum, which was focused on revitalising and developing the Karabakh area. The forum was organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan with the support of the Organization of Turkic States, the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.


In addition to Azerbaijan, four permanent members of the Organization of Turkic States (Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan) and the observer member Hungary, as well as representatives of various organizations and diplomatic corps, and businessmen attended the event.


The forum's goals are to strengthen the economic, commercial, and investment ties between the Turkic states, to encourage business interaction, and to introduce the Karabakh region's economic and investment potential to foreign investors. The event began with a minute silence commemorating the dear memory of our martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

 

At the forum, Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Bagdad Amreyev, Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Mammadov, President of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Union of Chambers and Exchanges of Turkey M. Rifat Hisarciklioglu, President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan Mammad Musayev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of KOBİA Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyz Republic Kubanichbek Kasimaliyev, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Farhodjon Toshpulatov discussed opportunities for cooperation in this area, public-private sector partnerships, and economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Turkic states, the involvement of business organisations from Turkic-speaking countries in  restoration and development of Azerbaijan’s liberated from occupation territories.


In the special session on "Investment opportunities in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur economic region" held under the framework of the event, Aydin Karimov, special representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Shusha region, Rahman Hajiyev, Chairman of the Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund, Yusif Abdullayev, Head of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency - AZPROMO, and Elshad Nuriyev, Chairman of the Board of Economic Zones Development Agency made a speech.


Bilateral discussions on "green infrastructure," the agricultural, food, renewable energy, textile, tourist, mining, and ICT sectors took place at the event.

Then the Agreement on the establishment of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Business Council was signed between the Council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Also The Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) and the Entrepreneurship Development Agency of Uzbekistan have adopted a roadmap for the execution of collaborative initiatives. Further, memorandums of understanding were signed between the Public Union "Association for the Development of Women's Entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan" and Turkey's "Kut Trading and Marketing Limited Company", "Baku Textile Factory" LLC and Turkey's "Inmak Group of Companies".


Forum participants also got acquainted with Shusha Galasi, Jidir Duzu, Vagif Mausoleum, busts of well-known personalities of Azerbaijan which were shot during the occupation.
