The "National CSR Award 2019" contest, organized in Azerbaijan to promote corporate social responsibility (CSR) has ended. Winners of the contest, held with the participation of relevant government agencies, and entrepreneurs were announced on January 24.
Note that, various CSR projects implemented by local and international companies operating in our country over the past year, were presented in the contest organized by the Association of Women Entrepreneurship Development in Azerbaijan, and the "Proactive" PR Agency.
Projects were evaluated by the Commission represented by the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, Small and Medium Business Development Agency, ASAN Service, ABAD, National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations, and National Assembly of Youth Organizations.
According to the results, "Bakcell" ("Communication through Art" Project), "Kapital Bank" ("Lost Girls" Project), "Norm" LLC ("Masters Club" Project), Bank of Baku ("Let them Rejoice" Project), Unibank (The Goal - Tokyo 2020), "AzerGold" CJSC ("Fighting Climate Change" Project), and "Bank Respublika" (I Can Do It Too) were awarded the "National CSR Award 2019."
Speaking at the event, Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, said that public-private cooperation could make a significant contribution to the development of CSR in the country and business entities should focus on socially vulnerable groups while conducting business activities. It was noted that the Agency is ready to cooperate with small and medium businesses for the development of the CSR sector.
