The "Youth business workshop" project was launched

The Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) is launching a new project in partnership with the State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population and the State Agency for Vocational Education under the Ministry of Education. The "Youth business workshop" project is aimed at developing business skills and encouraging entrepreneurship among youth studying in vocational education centers, ensuring self-employment, increasing the number of young people with vocational education among micro and small entrepreneurs, supporting new business initiatives, and increasing interest in vocational education.

 

The project’s initial stage covering 2021-2023, will involve senior students receiving vocational education in the Gabala, Aghdam, and Jalilabad regions. As part of the self-employment program under the project, young people who have received vocational education in tailoring, plant growing, livestock breeding, carpet weaving, agrotechnical services, carpentry, plumbing, cooking, confectionery, tourism, and welding will be involved in business training and receive equipment required to create microbusiness.

 

On November 30, the "Youth business workshop" project presentation took place, attended by representatives of relevant agencies and young people receiving vocational education. Speaking at the event, the chairman of the SMBDA Board Orkhan Mammadov, the chairman of the Board of the State Employment Agency Mustafa Abbasbayli, and advisor to the minister of Education Elnur Nasibov spoke about the project’s role in promoting youth entrepreneurship and ensuring self-employment, creating new enterprises based on the vocational knowledge and skills, increasing interest in vocational education. It was noted that under the project, the State Agency for Vocational Education will select and train young people - senior students of relevant vocational education centers and interested in entrepreneurship. These young people will be further attracted by SMBDA to business training and provided with mentoring support, they will pass training and internship at enterprises and “Masterclasses” by successful entrepreneurs. The State Employment Agency will provide young people who have successfully completed three-month business and vocational training with equipment, appropriate to their chosen field of activity.

 

At the event, the deputy chairman of the SMBDA Board Samir Humbatov made a presentation on the project’s goals, stages, and expected results.

 

Then, a tripartite document was signed for the implementation of the "Youth business workshop" project between the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA), the State Employment Agency, and the State Agency for Vocational Education. The document was signed by the chairman of the ARMSB Board Orkhan Mammadov, the chairman of the Board of the State Employment Agency Mustafa Abbasbayli, and advisor to the minister of Education Elnur Nasibov.
