Trainings for beekeepers were held in Dashkesan region

On April 13-15, with the support of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) and organized by AzerGold Closed Joint-Stock Company, trainings were held for beekeepers in Dashkesan region within the framework of the “Support to the Development of Beekeeping” project.


Beekeepers from Chovdar, Bayan, Gushchu and Zeylik villages of Dashkesan region took part in the 3-day training. The consultants involved in the project provided training on  spring care for bees, disease and pest control methods, brooding and breeding rules. At the same time, the expert of the SME Development Center of KOBİA informed the participants about the organizational, legal and economic measures taken to develop entrepreneurship thanks to the care of the state, the favorable environment for business, the mechanism of effective financial support to businesses.


Theoretical trainings on access to financial resources for farmers,  the organization of agrarian insurance, as well as practical trainings on conducting work in apiaries in accordance with veterinary and sanitary rules, ways to increase the productivity and sustainability of bee families were held in the farm.


Within the framework of the program, methodical instruction booklets were distributed in order to increase awareness on the treatment and prevention of parasitic diseases damaging beekeeping, the application of innovations in this field. In the end, the farmers` questions were answered and a wide exchange of views took place.

The next stage of the project envisages the issuance of certificates to the villagers who participated in the trainings, as well as the provision of farmers with bee families and relevant equipment, and the planting of nectar-producing trees and shrubs in the Dashkesan region.


It should be noted that the purpose of the project "Support to the development of beekeeping" is to contribute to the development of small business ecosystems in the region, the promotion of beekeeping as a type of eco-entrepreneurship and increase the production of natural honey.
