The 2nd meeting of the Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia Joint Business Council discussed expansion of relations between the businesspersons of both countries, implementation of joint initiatives, avenues of cooperation in business and trade, investment opportunities in Karabakh.


The 2nd meeting of the Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia Joint Business Council was held in the city of Shusha. Officials and entrepreneurs from both countries attended the event organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) and the Federation of Chambers of Saudi Arabia.


It is worth noting that a delegation of officials and businessmen led by the co-chairman of the Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia Joint Business Council, the chief executive officer of "Al Rajhi International for Investment" Ahmed Ali Al Dakhil is on a visit to our country to attend the meeting of the Business Council, as well as to get acquainted with the business and investment opportunities of Azerbaijan.


The 2nd meeting of the Business Council in the city of Shusha aims to bring to the attention of the businesspersons of Saudi Arabia the work done in   reintegrating our liberated territories into the economy, the business opportunities of the region, and encourage their involvement in the relevant restoration and reconstruction works.


Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Mammadov, co-chairmen of the Business Council - Ahmad Ali Al Dakhil and the chairman of the Board of KOBİA Orkhan Mammadov, special representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Shusha district Aydin Karimov, Vice President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan Vugar Zeynalov, Deputy Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency – AZPROMO Zohrab Gadirov, and Deputy Chairman of the Business Council Abdullah Al-Mutrif delivered their views on business, investment and export potential of both countries, including opportunities for business and investment in the liberated territories, avenues for enhancing existing cooperation and relations in trade and investment between the business circles of both countries, support and services provided to local and foreign businessmen in Azerbaijan, activities of the Business Council.


As part of the event, exchange of ideas was also made on the implementation of joint initiatives and projects with the engagement of entrepreneurs from both countries, consolidating the role of the Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia Joint Business Council in broadening relations between business circles, and enhancing the role of SMB entities to promote investments on a mutual basis.


In addition, at the event, a video clip was displayed on the sustainable development of the liberated Karabakh and a presentation on the investment opportunities of our country was demonstrated.


At the "B2B" and "G2B" meetings organized subsequently to event, topics such as exchange of information and experience, opportunities for cooperation, organization of joint events and meetings, and mutual business missions were subjects of discussion.


A delegation of government officials and businesspeople from Saudi Arabia will continue their visit to our country until June 13, where they will hold meetings at a number of state bodies and learn about investment opportunities in our country.


Note: The Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia Joint Business Council was forged in December 2022 pursuant to the Agreement signed between KOBİA and the Federation of Saudi Chambers. The Business Council, represented by businesspeople from both countries, supports the initiatives of entrepreneurs, helps to build direct ties between them, hold mutual visits, meetings and various events, and manage exchange of information between businesspersons. The first meeting of the Business Council was held in April 2023 in the city of Riyadh.
